American Perceptions of Biosecurity Preparedness:

Over 80% Polled Think the Government Should Invest More in Biosecurity

 

The Alliance for Biosecurity, the Blue Ribbon Study Panel on Biodefense and Trust for America’s Health conducted a survey of American adults to learn about the general public’s impressions of our preparedness for biosecurity threats and about their willingness to invest resources in improving preparedness. The survey was fielded from March 28-30, 2016.

Americans are Concerned that Naturally-Occuring Diseases and Chemical or Biological Weapons Pose Threats to the United States
Most Americans Support Increasing the Budget for Biosecurity and Preventative Measures for Biological Threats
Americans Were Surprised to Learn of Funding Shortfall for Preparedness Funds, Believe it is Important for US to Invest in Pandemic Preparedness

*Responses were from an omnibus survey of 1,000 U.S. adults, representative of the general U.S. population, with a margin oferror of ± 3.1. The survey was fielded from March 28-30, 2016.
